tino aureli (PRS) Music Composer and Producer

(Moon Light -tino aureli)

Hello, and welcome to my website, which promotes my music for film and television as well as my instrumental music. You will find samples of my work on the music page.

Tino Aureli is a music composer and Italian by origin.  He is a composer/producer for film & TV, his niche is Modern Jazz, (experimental & new age).  He has lived in England for the past 35 years. His music experience spans a long time and he has been playing guitar since he was 14 years of age. Tino interest in Jazz begins in the club dives of Rome in the 60’s where straightahead jazz was the norm, he got acquainted in the complexities of the Jazz of k. Burrell, Charlie Christian, Wes Montgomery, Joe Pass, George Benson, Oscar Peterson, and Miles Davies and in the 70’s with the jazz of, J. Scofield, Sun Ra and Weather Report. Regarded as a highly versatile and creative player, he was in much demand in the clubs circuit, giving him the opportunity of travelling all over Europe. On the back of these experiences Tino began writing is own music. Tino’s music evolution is very evident. The blues tinged rifts of his guitar, demonstrates flair and a fluid inventiveness from beginning to end. In the composition, he takes away the players attitude, and writes music that has its own logic and reason for being. Tino music manages to combine immediacy with certain off the wall unpredictability. You think that you have herd guitar music like this before, and then the tracks dodge sharp right through an opening of chord progressions completely unexpected. Not so much complicated, just an unexpected choice of chord progressions. The clever arrangements tips, in his music, include tempo fluctuations, unusual chord progressions and a touch of unexpected transpositions. Tino's music has its roots in more then one period and it is difficult to pigeonhole, ' FREE JAZZ' is a good word for it.

There’s nobody hanging over me and saying you have to do this or that. But that doesn’t mean that there aren’t surprises and it can be an extraordinarily intense environment. The emotions can run high since people care so passionately about the music and what we are doing.

When examining  music composing of evolutionists there are some things that become  really apparent from the earlier music compositions until more recent ones.

The concept that I employ in my music, is to consider each song as a complete unit with each instrument having his centre from which each performs independently .The improvisation is continuous; each instrument creates an element of the whole, responding to the total creative energy. This is the fundamental principle underlining my music, in that it extends into all the areas of music-making. The forms that I use in my music are traditional, contemporary and experimental. I am an improviser, and my music is for the improviser. The works offers a world of sound and rhythm as diverse as the many different components.

I can at any one time have a million excuses for not composing - but no matter my mood, when I choose to just walk up to my gear, I instantly begin to manifest new excitement, and within minutes I become the real me, expressing my true nature as it takes over whatever else may be going on at the time .

After a gap, I am finally composing again, a long period of insecurity where I just couldn't seem to get around to it, and many ideas fell away, lost and unused. There is so much more to do, though, that I may never get around completing those.
